Role overview  

Patterdale Hall is a Residential Adventure Learning Centre, based in Glenridding on the shores of Lake Ullswater, which provides a variety of land and water based activities for school children and commercial clients. The Hall is part of Bolton School in Lancashire.

 

The Hall is looking to recruit a General Assistant. The position is a multi-functional role working in three main areas; Catering, Housekeeping and Evening Duty. Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage but is not essential, as an enthusiasm for the job and a ready smile is just as important as experience.

 

The rate of pay for this position will be between £7.83 per hour and £8.84 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

A multi-functional role working in three main areas of Patterdale Hall; Catering, Housekeeping and Night watch.  At times will also assist with general maintenance.

Hours

To be worked on a casual basis as and when requested by the Patterdale Hall Management.  

Salary Up to £8.84 per hour
Holiday

You will be entitled to receive pro-rata holiday pay of 5.6 weeks per annum. At the end of each month the School will pay you in lieu of any accrued but untaken holiday for the month. Holiday pay will be subject to the normal deductions.

Other information

All offers of employment will be made subject to the successful applicant providing the original qualification certificates, relevant to the position and as outlined in their application form. Identification documents will also be required including passport or picture driving licence, birth certificate, marriage certificate where applicable, current pay slip and evidence of address e.g. utilities bill, bank statement. Eligibility to work in the UK will be checked. After the appointment is made the successful candidate will be required to complete a medical questionnaire, a check of the Children’s Barred List will be done and an Enhanced Criminal Records Check will be carried out through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The School will seek two references prior to the interview.
